FUNKY, PART 1—Mary Logan of Kim Foster Gallery loves to laugh. Her laugh is gentle and welcoming, never derisive or negative. When Logan agreed to curate September and October, launching the 2009–2010 art season, she worked hard at stating the essence of what she would like to see. Her final version on the call for entries:
“Capturing a sense of personal identity or expression in a birthday suit display. What fun!”
The N*des-of-the-Month September calendar is the 37th barebrush monthly calendar. It celebrates the third anniversary of barebrush. All previous calandar art can be viewed in the calendar archives (link at right). As barebrush launches into its 4th year, more than ever we are sure that by demonstrating success at barebrush, we move toward our goal of increasing the awareness, appreciation and acceptance of the art of the nude. (For “Funky, Part 2,” see October 2009).
